Outdoor fun for little ones
Forestille is Danish for 'imagine'.
In this class you will get to enjoy the outdoors with your baby or toddler. We'll do singing, stories, sensory play and crafts. Each week we will have a different adventure, with a focus on child-led themes so there is no telling where the class may go!
The classes are mixed-age, with a very relaxed approach. If your baby needs a feed, or your toddler wants to wander off, please feel free to follow their lead. Sitting and paying attention can come when they get older.
Location
Forestille classes will be held at the Saughtonhall Community Association. Entrance is via the gate into the garden, accessed from Baird Terrace.
This is a beautiful community space, fully fenced in, free on street parking and a big grassy area with trees and slopes.
You can get the 38 bus, the tram or any number of buses to nearby Corstorphine Road. Check the 'public transport' option on Google Maps for more options.
Classes
Forestille Class:
These classes are for babies and toddlers up to 5 years and last around 60 minutes.
You are welcome to stay and play in the garden after the class finishes. This is a community space. Some people bring picnics so that their little ones can sleep as soon as they head off.
Each class costs £6, £3 for siblings.
Booking
Terms and Conditions
Forestille classes are £6 per child, £3 for siblings. Babes in arms are free.
Older school-aged siblings may attend Forestille classes, at a cost of £3 per additional child. Sibling tickets may only be booked if in addition to a main ticket.
It is extremely important that I am made aware of any health concerns that may affect your child's participation in the class, so that I can ensure their needs are met.
In the rare event that a class is cancelled I will email or text everyone, with as much notice as possible.
If you are unable to attend your class I may be able to fit you into a different session, so do contact me to find out.
As the weather in Edinburgh is so variable, I recommend dressing yourself and your little one in layers and waterproofs.
There are no toilet facilities available, off-site facilities may be found nearby.
Photos may be taken during classes. I do my best to avoid photos of children's faces, unless explicitly told by parents that this is ok. Please let me know if you want me to make sure there are no photos taken of your child.
